A Private School realizes the opportunities of online learning with Giant Campus of Washington.

Since our school launch last week our Enrollment Advisors have had the great opportunity to talk with about 150 high school teens at a local private high school. The response from students and teachers has been incredible!

Many students are interested and have signed-up for the classes that best suit their interests. The below video was played during our time at the school, and it sparked the students and got them really excited about our new class, Computer Aided Design (CAD). Check it out!

The private school’s teachers are working fast on making our spring classes available to the students. The DECA / Marketing teacher is nuts about our program and is currently working on offering our classes during a period or more of school, making the classes easily available to all the students. Our Entrepreneurship class is great for students interested in DECA and marketing! The web design teacher is signing up the entire class for our web design class, to help advance interested students along with dedicated expert instruction.

This is just a quick example of how one school is realizing the complementary educational opportunities with online learning. We look forward to working with more schools in offering valuable technology classes to students across the state!

Cool CSS Animation Effects

leave a comment »

One of our Instructional Designers recently called our attention to some cool new developments in CSS. These animation effects were created entirely with CSS!

A spinner: http://media.24ways.org/2009/15/spinner.html

A colorized spinner: http://media.24ways.org/2009/15/spinner-alt.html

Outer space: http://media.24ways.org/2009/15/space.html

How to info is available here: http://24ways.org/2009/css-animations

NOTE: This is pretty cutting edge, so not all browsers support this yet. You can be sure to see the animations properly by viewing the links in Google’s Chrome browser http://www.google.com/chrome.

These new developments will be fun to incorporate into future Web courses! What other new tech developments would you like to see us cover in future Giant Campus courses?
