Study: Creating Video Games Boosts Skills

with 2 comments

A new study out from Oklahoma State University researchers show that students increase critical and creative thinking skills when building and designing video games as opposed to playing them.

Researchers also found that designing and creating video games is a method that could ultimately bridge the digital divide between those that have technology accessible to them and to those that don’t.

This research validates our own research and methodology.  We’ve had data for years that shows that students who take these types of classes develop higher order thinking skills faster.  Giant Campus Game Design courses are designed to allow kids to create and build video games in a fun and relevant project based environment.

Congrats to the researchers who have been working diligently on this project to validate a very important aspect of technology and learning.
